November 2025
As we move deeper into the season of thankfulness, there’s so much to celebrate and look forward to here at Johnson Elementary. Our whole-child philosophy guides everything we do — academics, character development, enrichment, community connection — and this month is a great time to live that out together.
🍂 A Time of Thankfulness
At Johnson, we believe in more than test scores and curriculum; we believe in nurturing each child’s mind, heart, and spirit as part of a caring school community. Our shared values—collaboration, respect, engagement, growth—are what make us a school where each student matters.
This November, as we gather, learn, play, and reflect, let’s take time to pause and express gratitude: for our friends, teachers, families, and all the ways we grow together.
🎒 Kindergarten Open House — Wednesday, November 19
We’re excited to welcome prospective families to our Kindergarten Open House on Wednesday, November 19 from 5:30 – 6:30 pm. If you know of neighbors or friends with incoming kindergartners, invite them to explore Johnson Elementary and experience what makes us special.
Here’s what you’ll discover:
- A warm, welcoming community that values each child as a whole person
- A rich academic programming paired with specials (Art, Music, PE, Technology, Makerspace) and enrichment opportunities
- A neighborhood-feel school where families, students, and staff all belong and thrive
As you tour, we hope you sense the energy of learning, the kindness of our students, and the vision behind our motto: “Preparing Today’s Child for Tomorrow’s World.” In-person kindergarten registration will be Wednesday, December 3 at Johnson. Parents/legal guardians of incoming kindergartners are encouraged to complete online or in-person registration by Dec. 3.
🦃 Turkey Round Up — Thursday, November 20
Mark your calendar! On Thursday, November 20, we’ll hold our annual Turkey Round Up. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Husky community to show gratitude by supporting families in need and strengthening our connection with one another.
Please consider contributing a turkey (or donation) so our school can make a meaningful impact in the Fort Collins area. It’s a hands-on way for our students to practise kindness, responsibility, and generosity—key aspects of our whole-child approach.
Thank you for being part of the Johnson Elementary family. Together, we’re creating a school where children are valued, supported, and inspired to grow—not only academically, but personally and socially. Let’s make November a meaningful month of connection, gratitude, and growth.
Go Huskies! 🐾
